About The Show
Phantom is a musical with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and a book by Arthur Kopit. Based on Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel The Phantom of the Opera. Phantom tells the heart-rending tale of Eric – disfigured from birth but as beautiful on the inside as he is misshapen on the outside. Raised from youth and hidden in the crypts and lagoons beneath the Paris Opera, the adult Eric has an inner beauty reflecting the music that all his life has wafted down from the stage above and has sustained him. When an untalented egomaniacal Diva takes over the Opera, the musical world so dear to his life is shattered. He seeks a voice and a singer to restore the only beauty he’s ever known and finds it in Christine Daiae whom he musically trains and with whom he falls in love.

Spring Fair, Friday 17 May at the Asian Centre, E17, 7-10pm

Our annual May event presents a cornucopia of art and designer craft.

After a successful event to help raise funds for the newly opened William Morris Gallery in Lloyd Park, E17 Designers make a welcome return to its regular home in the heart of Walthamstow village: the Asian Centre on Orford Road.

The E17 Designers Spring Fair offers a bountiful array of beautiful, artful products,
all made locally – and a shopping experience that successfully combines the best elements of a church bazaar, uptown department store and exclusive design event.

Designers, both first-timers and regulars (including the ever-popular Suzie’s Kitchen), will be on hand to offer you the very best excuse for spending money.

If you haven’t visited for a while (and where have you been?), you are in for a treat with a dozen new designers on board this year. If you are a regular visitor, then you already know this is the borough’s hottest spot for one night only – a great evening out, sociable shopping and service with a smile from E17 Designers.
