A Place To Live
We have been living in Walthamstow for over 14 years and would not live anywhere else in London. Walthamstow Village is only a short walk from Walthamstow central tube, over ground and bus station and now more importantly one of the host boroughs for the 2012 London Olympics.
Walthamstow Village is a little Haven tucked away to the East of Hoe Street and to the West of the Lea Bridge Road, it can be easily missed but once found is a pleasure to wander round.
There are many interesting shops and local businesses that pride themselves on quality along with an array of bars, pubs, cafés and restaurants. Something to suit all tastes.
There is a thriving music scene and plenty of events and activities each month to keep everyone entertained.
Close by are Hollow Ponds the start of Epping Forest We are lucky to have so many green areas in our Borough and the main attraction is Epping Forest. Walking or cycling to the forest is quite special when you think about how close we are to central London, only eight miles!
Walthamstow is still an affordable area of London to live and you can definitely get more for your money. There are a couple of Museums in Walthamstow, the Vestry House Museum is very interesting and has a wealth of information about Walthamstow both past and Present. The William Morris Gallery is a great place to visit and is surrounded by lovely gardens.
Visit our Photo Gallery to see some picture of Walthamstow Village and it's surrounding area.
